so i had my mocha ice crema in one hand, the HARRY POTTER COLLECTOR'S EDITION OF ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY in another, and i was ready to coast on in to heaven.
as i sat down to read i kept telling myself, "it's not gonna get better than this. this is your heaven. enjoy it meghan, enjoy it."
but unfortunately, it wasn't my heaven. all indicators point to that particular situation being my haven of all things in the sadsad land of meghandom, but it wasn't. KDWB was playing in the fucking background, crooning morbid songs like "if i die young" and relative oldie "dead and gone" and i literally felt like death. not in a good way. there were 300 articles all about the magical world of HP and yet i couldn't get myself to read them.
i had a stomacheache and it has yet to subside.

In all seriousness
How could I not do a reaction post to this? So...friggin...cool...
Well, it got me thinking. I am a huge Harry Potter fan, we all know this. I run in a circle of such fans, as they say (no one says that). I am of the evangelical sort, of course, and I used to be of the obsessive sort. We're talking mugglenet.com as my homepage, a fan video viewer extraordinare, DVD owner/marathon watcher, t-shirt buying freak (I feel like I'm preaching to the choir as I write this; like y'all are all doing one long eye-roll as you read this), and happy to be one.
But there are things that really upset me about obsessions; they tend to take a lot out of you. First of all, you have to defend your honor a lot. People call you a phony (SONIA) and people scoff at you (MANY A PERSON) and you have to deal with trailers and ads when you just aren't emotionally ready to see them.
I'll never be ready to say good-bye. I love Harry Potter, but I honestly think the best thing for me is to reel it in. I can't watch the trailer over and over, I can't watch those fan videos or spend money on t-shirts. It just breaks my fucking heart. It is no secret that I'm an emotionally unstable person. Many simple things throw me for a loop (?) and I start blubbering like a baby. And like I said, it takes a lot out of me; an emotionally straining hobby.
This sounds like bullshit, or an annoying side effect of a psychotic breakdown--take your pick--but I'm saying it quite seriously. I'm not emotionally stable enough to say good-bye, so if you see me not participating in discussions or watching videos or counting down the days, now you'll know why.

because i can't stop myself from liking this
because since the age of 7 i've felt like a kindred spirit to karen
i would get this, but what if then i get blasted with compliments everytime i go into public with it???(sonia)
something molly would say
so true. i don't get why the public gets so pissed at comedians. theyre just doing their job, if you don't like it, don't go to their shows

i understand this was written to make fun of how teenagers talk. but i really talk like this, and i'm not ashamed. maybe only a little.

never thought i'd find myself in agreement with drake (always more of a josh, myself)

this is so fucking dumb. who cares?!?! just an example of how dumbass imgfave can be sometimes
i was there bitches!!!! manhattan beach!!!! why do i feel starstruck

pre-lenscrafters
firstly: i would like to address the zit post and the parent post. i was not trying to garner sympathy or anything. i was trying to be funny, in some extreme cases (improper use of phrase, noted). just...an FYI.
my real reason for posting? TRUE BLOOD! season premiere tonight! tonight!
woah! look at these sneak peeks! ---> http://www.tvline.com/2011/06/true-blood-video-spoiler/
woah! i forgot nobody else watches it
...also. i don't know what to think about his particular youtube vlogger. is she trying to be funny [is she being sarcastic]? is she super hipster (...the voice...)? what is up. that's my mystery of the day, i believe.

never assume your texts to me are private
me trying to tell a joke and sonia upstaging me:
me: quick quiz question!!! When is the best time to realize the only thing you've consumed today is coffeee???? DING DING DING! The answer is (C) when you're painting your nails!!
sonia: the answer is D! when you are tempted to drink the brown coffee coming out of your urethra
never underestimate the lengths i will go when i am bored (referring to this post, not drinking my brown urine)

semi-interesting quotes of the night
Marriage equality in NY tweets. (Holy shit, finally!)
From Bad Teacher
Geek 7th Grader: Well, at least 8th grade will be better.
Bad Teacher: Yeah, it won't be. College. College is your window.
(or something like that.)
If you're on the fence about seeing Bad Teacher, see it for Jason Segel alone, dude. He made da movie.
They also did pot scenes well, I thought. Not so cheesy.
From my Dumbass Dad
DD: What movie did you see?
Me: ...bad teacher...
DD: Isn't that R??
Me: OH NO!!! I FORGOT!!! I'm too young to see that!! ....wait a minute. I'm 17. That's right. *walks the fuck away*
I don't know what the hell has gotten into him, but I fucking hate it.

help
ok.
i know that most of you don't enjoy hanging out with your parents. some of you are all like 'it's tolerable' and some of you pretend to dislike them when you're around me meanwhile secretly hanging out with them all the time (erin, acacia).
so here's my question:
how do you do it? how do you tolerate it? how do you say "yes" and go and do and see and be with them?
tonight my family was going out to dinner. i had sweats on. i was in my basement, listening to podcasts, doing my thing. then i hear my mom coming down the stairs; never a good thing. if i didn't look so discouraging right now, i'd totally reenact it for y'all. she comes down the stairs slowly, she makes the turn casually, she stands there, usually with a dog running around by her feet. she proceeds to talk to the dog, in front of me, clearly doing something, none of her business what i'm doing, i feel like writing in run-on, comma-filled sentences right now, baby-talking to him about random shit. i wanna scream at her or middle finger the air or something, but bitch wouldn't allow that. she has this thing about her where she laughs and stands and talks to herself (talking around me but i'm not actually engaged whatsoever) but you know: if you step out of line, she'll cut you liker bitch. true story.
anyway, she ASKS me if i wanna go to dinner. now, y'all know this is the worst. see, if you say "no" you're the bitch who won't go to a simple dinner. if you say "yes" you'll be in complete hell the whole night. either way you be fucked. well, she asks, i say no. i do a little dance around the kitchen making it seem like i sort of give a shit. and then i wonder: how do you people do it? how do you say "yes" and go to dinner and tolerate your parents? do i just have a really low tolerance for parents, or is there some secret that i don't know about???

day 30 "anything you want to post about"
clearly, whoever made this dumb challenge up got super lazy at the end
hungover
i didn't have a single drink last night, but i feel incredibly hungover today. thankfully not the real kind: no vomitting or headaches. just tired and dizzy and weird and even though my stomach's growling i have no desire to deal with food. i'm not going to deny that i did have a little fun last night. but only for an hour two. the rest of the day was finishing up the true blood marathon. seriously.
at around 6 AM yesterday i decided to call it a "night" and i slept til 11 AM. then i went back downstairs and continued through the rest of season 3 until 8 PM. now i'm experiencing extreme withdrawl symptoms. what sucks the most is that true blood is not some network-primetime show and that makes it much more difficult to locate. it won't be on the tele again til next week until season 4 premieres. and online there are only dumb clips on youtube and megavideo.
to accompany my withdrawl symptoms of constantly thinking about it and trying to find more episodes to watch, i ate a shitload last night. and now i'm having the usual bloated/i'm fat/why am i fat/oh i ate a shitload last night debate in my head. it's not great.
AND TO TOP EVERYTHING OFF, GUYS, I BOUGHT A PINT OF BEN&JERRY'S RED VELVET ICE CREAM LAST NIGHT!!!!
i need serious help. i'm thinking a weekend getaway to a camp for unhealthy assholes and gwyneth paltrow is my camp counselor and she throws my tv out the window and makes me eat all her healthy food and exercise with her personal trainer to the stars tracy anderson. (i don't stalk ms paltrow; i watch a lot of E!)

no skills
in theory, anyone should be able to master the drive-thru. it's there for convenience.
in execution, i completely suck at it. i don't know why, but i utterly fail at every attempt i make to own that shit.
on two separate occasions i've said "one brownie bladder bizzard" into the DQ speaker. i've dropped purchased items on the ground. i've driven on the curb all the way from the menu to the window. i've forgotten what it is i had wanted to order at the speaker and have had to maneuver out of the line. i've asked how much money i owed and have been directed to the digital screen with the price on it. i've allowed relatives to scream profanity in the car as i try to give my order.
then today, out of blissful dumbassery, i decided to give exact change and then wrap the quarters and penny in the dollar bill. granted, the girl who reached out for the money did so quite awkwardly. we both were doing a little dance with our hands to figure out how to exchange it. then what did i do? i dropped it on the ground. she said, "just go. we'll get it later. just go." this was weird because there was only one car behind me, so what could be the rush?
well, it was embarrassing.

hey guys. it's 3:26 AM. i know what you are thinking... that it's a little sketchy to be up at such an hour when you're alone. and let me tell you: it gets sketchier.
have you guys ever seen an R-rated movie that you know is going to be tough to watch but ends up being way too much and at the end of it you don't even know what just happened? well, i've been watching that movie for over 12 hours now.
it's called the true blood marathon.
for those who have never seen true blood, it's way more fucked up than it sounds. for a taste, here's the title sequence. it's beyond fucked up in itself, and the show is simply a continuation. the title sequence is no exaggeration.
well, i've always been curious about this show. i watched the pilot online a year ago and found that it was too poorly acted/too fucked up for me to even consider getting serious about it. then a year passes by and suddenly it's summer, i've got nothing to do, i'm in my basement, and there's a true blood marathon on a channel i didn't have a year ago.
there's a shitload of sex, like every other scene, and not like regular sex, but the crazy disturbing kind. there's drugs in the form of "V" or vampire blood, violence, blood and guts, and an addicting storyline about vampires. but not like the pussy kind in twilight.
i'm creeped out right now and not because it's 3 AM and i'm in my dark basement alone swearing a ton on the internet. it's because sookie is trapped in the cellar of the vampire-hating fellowship of the sun and who the hell is godric?!
....help...me...
p.s. OH! there's also a STORM of sexy guys on this show!
meet jason: he's shirtless all the time

day 28 - "do you wish for anything at 11:11? if so, what do you wish for?"
fuck no. if i do happen upon a situation like that sometimes i'll go for world peace cuz i'm fly like that.
day 27 - "a picture of your handwriting"
1. this is a mysterious demand.
2. we all know my handwriting barely rivals a 5 year old boy's so there is no need for this embarrassment to occur
