what i gathered from 2 minutes of cnn

currently, new york has a bill stalling in the state senate over legalizing same-sex marriage. celebrities and former new york football players are speaking out for it. brian brown of the nat'l organization of marriage says that right now only two republicans are voting for it. surpisingly, many republicans and conservatives are funding the campaign despite probable issues with the next re-elections. new york has tried three times to legalize same-sex marriage..

minnesota is working on a bill to ban same-sex marraige.

day 26 - "what are some little things that make you feel warm and fuzzy?"

blankets
heaters
fuzzy things
clothes

this was a literal question, right?

day 25 - "would you rather date someone plain with an amazing personality or someone beautiful with a plain personality?"

this question is so dumb.

having had no experience with either situation, i would have to say that television and movies have taught me to go with the personality.

dumb

teenagers at the gym

[supposedly this is an 80 year old man thinking twitter is google because his son taught him how to use the internet and thought this would be funny... I KNOW IT'S A HOAX, OKAY?!)

this norman fella has it right. teenagers suck at the gym. we all look at each other like we're going to figure out each other's true motives. but we rarely do.

but do you know who suck worse at the gym? cranky, middle-aged women.

i know, i know, duh meghan.

but they really are the worst. today i was at the gym bright and early because i'm on my period and am fucking crazy and on my way to the stretching mats some bitch gives me a "GRRRRRRRR" look and i'm like, bitch please.

i don't know why she was looking at me that way, 'cause obviously, i need to work out, obviously, she needs to work out, so why can't we do that peacefully? thank god my discreet ego checked out the situation at hand and forced my eyes and head down in the sorrowful position.

i shouldn't be blogging this early.

huffington post told me to share this and i'm a follower

it's annoying

just another thursday

it's been a while since i've posted an unattractive picture of myself on here, so this is today's:

it represents the three things i would like to bitch about. let's begin, shall we? (none of the three topics are the least bit interesting, i'm just incredibly bored with life. leave this page now.)

1. as all of you should know, i semi-regularly dogsit an oddly gawky dog named Putts. today i brought him over to my house. when i drove up to the driveway, put gatsby in park, i saw that i had recieved a text message,  and i naturally started to reply. at this time i was fully aware that my mother was loitering in the garage, waiting to pounce. soon enough, she did come out to see what "all the ruckus [was] about" (me sitting in a car) and found me sitting in the driver's seat and Putts sitting in the passenger seat. see how unfunny this situation is? see how boring it is? well, my mother is what polite folks would call simple when it comes to jokes (especially when animals are involved and/or poop), and from that moment on she started referring to Putts as "meg's boyfriend." now where ever i go in the house she says, "oh look whose boyfriend is following her...' and the like and quite frankly i want to shoot myself. it's not only a pathetic excuse for a joke and gives her yet another opportunity to talk at me, but it makes my social life seem even more saddening.

2. i got this week's issue of entertainment weekly today!! as exciting as this always is, the excitement was amplified a trillion when i saw ryan reynolds on the cover! and the excitement increased even further when i saw he wrote the cover story!!! (if you're doubting said 'excitement', see this thrilling anecdote: i composed three different texts to send to people [sonia] about whether or not they would want to read the article. luckily, i wised up and did not send them.) anyway, the article was humorous and the photos were mouthwatering, etc, but then something sparked within me when i saw this little article entitled "TV's Most Shocking Deaths" in which  5 different character demises were detailed in order of most outrageous. normally, this kind of thing would only casually spark my interest. it was #4 however, that got me thinking and in a disturbingly complex way for a magazine about television.

#4. Roseanne's Dan Conner (John Goodman)
Roseanne stunned viewers in 1997 when its final episode revealed that the patriarch had died of a heart attack - and that the entire story arc about the family winning the lottery had been imagined.

now, i don't know if any of y'all have even seen roseanne,  let alone this episode, but when i read that, my throat started to sting and tighten like i was going to cry. what is most odd about this, is i was 4 years old when that episode likely aired. i must've seen it on a re-run on nick-at-night, but oh my god, what an episode that was. even if it was a laugh-tracked-to-hell sitcom, roseanne had serious heart, and to kill off dan?!!?! why?!?! as a 7 year old, watching that episode, you can imagine the stream of emotions that i endured. and to think that i'm remembering those hard feelings 10 years later (i know i'm playing fast and loose with the math/years here) is what makes television truly phenomenal, children. ....

3. i'm going to start biking places! reduce my carbon footprint! thanks for the reminder, roxy! comment on this post if you are still alive, by the way.

an invitation

Everyone who reads my blog: I am inviting you to breakfast exactly one week from now. Please come, I'm addicted to their pancakes, and I swear I can get you addicted too. I will text you all the day before, so you'll remember.

it's now Thursday, June 23nd
Woodbury Café
10 AM

Price Range: $5-10 per meal
Attire: Super casual. Like as casual as it gets, with clothing on.

Please be there: Because I'm desperate for company.

Please be there: Because I'm writing out a formal invitation on the Internet, and it'd be quite shameful for me (and my family) if no one attends.

Please be there: Because I miss all of you.

dy 24 - 7 things that cross your mind a lot

1. Where can I get some chocolate? Seriously. This is not some cutesy, feminine "WOMEN ARE CRAAAZY FOR CHOCOLATE" joke. I'm always on the look out for chocolate, and I have a problem.

2. Twitter would be more interesting than this. Except that it never is. I have an addiction to clicking my Twitter bookmark. I am not proud of myself and I wish it would stop.

3. I should organize a breakfast at Woodbury Cafe where I can get my hands on some pancakes. You think you attend a lot of breakfasts? Imagine how many times a day I think about it.

4. There are germs here.

5. I should've gone to the gym today.

6. Where's Dug?

7. I wish I lived in California.

day 23 - a letter to someone, anyone

Dear Blake Lively, I hate you, Acacia,

I'm not sure if you've caught on or not, but we all hate that you've left. We hate it. It is dumb. We miss you all the time. Going to the gym? Miss you. Drinking a Campfire Mocha? Miss you. Someone says something stupid but funny? Miss you. And your imagination.

We think it's great that you're out there, accumulating all that it takes to get into any college any where, but must you do it A GAZILLION MILES AWAY?! And two months is way too long. Way too long to help with earthquake/tsunami relief/teaching English efforts.

We bow down to you, but we also scold you. Tsk, tsk.

Love,
everyone

P.S. I would like to thank everyone for allowing me to speak for them. If you don't appreciate this, go fuck yourself, we can discuss it in private.

i am so fucking confused

why would this be the direction you'd go in with this song? what direction even is it? are there multiple directions?
