nowadays, one cannot simply blog about a movie without instantly drawing comparisons to one miss liz's 100 movie countdown of the summer(&beyond). it was, dare i say, epic, but leaves me Lost in Translation (pun definitely intended) when i try to sit down and write one of my own.
alas, i will try my hardest, because i recently read an Entertainment Weekly article about Reese Witherspoon which (of course) mentioned her break out, Golden Globe nomination recieving role in ELECTION, perhaps one of the greatest movies ever.
election stars reese witherspoon as a hilariously-anal Tracy Flick who tries to win student class president of her suburban high school but is oddly thwarted by matthew broderick's character. it sounds cheesy, but it's plenty...raunchy...and weird...and funny! ...and mostly weird, but i whole-heartedly recommend this mother-trucker. it's got the quiet-power of those really awesome indie movies...and i ate it up. feel free to do so as well.
