[Thoughts From Inside the Library]

"I know what it is, that feeling. It's not like I haven't been on the other side of it. That high of social glory... maybe not the highest of highs, but definitely a spirited feeling, after succeeding in another round of 'social dynamics' play.

Laughing, joking, skipping, quipping - it's not an experience unknown by many.

But to be on the other-other side of the social skippers feels segregating, unmerited, polarizing. It's the inner child desperate to be part of the game, and the self-satisfied adult knowing full well it's not the time.

Everything said has a different edge.

Perhaps a symptom of influential rhetoric and the maturity of our lingual society - in which such opposites are felt in a single situation. Ponder anymore and another drastic implication of social dynamics will meet its match. "
