another day, another quarrel in which my dad thinks he's using logic but really is exhibiting symptoms of dementia

me:  i heard today that the vikings will only use that new gazillion dollar stadium eight times in a year.
jan:  yeah, it's ridiculous

tom: well why does lady gaga get paid as much as she does? she has talent.

me:
(long pause because..wtf)

me: ...lady gaga doesn't do eight concerts a year. she's performing constantly.

tom: and  (as if he's been listing off tons of supporting arguments) the players get beat up. they endure a lot of physical abuse.

me:

was there more to his argument inside his head or ? why did he choose to attack my comment from that perspective?
